Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about your care, appointments, insurance, and what to expect at Chicagoland Spine and Sport.
-
Your first visit starts with a conversation about what brought you in, your symptoms, your activities, and what you want to get back to. From there, we’ll perform a thorough examination to better understand your movement, joint function, soft tissues, and current capabilities.
We’ll discuss what we find, answer your questions, and determine the best next steps for you. In most cases, your first visit will also include treatment based on what we find during your examination.

Yes. We are in-network with commercial plans through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois (BCBSIL), Aetna, Cigna, and UnitedHealthcare, as well as Medicare. Coverage and benefits vary by individual plan, so we recommend verifying your specific benefits before your first visit.
We also offer self-pay options for patients who are out-of-network, do not have insurance coverage, or prefer not to use insurance.

No. You do not need a referral to schedule an appointment with us. You can book directly with our office or schedule online.
In some cases, your individual insurance plan may have specific requirements for coverage, so we recommend checking your benefits if you're unsure.

We recommend wearing comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely, especially if we'll be assessing or treating an area that may require movement or exercise.
Athletic clothing such as shorts, leggings, or a T-shirt is ideal, but don't worry if you're coming straight from work or don't have workout clothes with you. We'll work with what you're comfortable wearing.

Your first visit is typically about 60 minutes to allow time to discuss your history and goals, perform a thorough examination, review what we find, and begin treatment.
Follow-up visits are typically 30–45 minutes, depending on your individual treatment plan and needs.
-
No. Chiropractic adjustments are just one of the tools we may use as part of your care, but they are never required. Your treatment is individualized based on your needs, goals, and preferences.
Depending on what we find during your examination, your care may include soft tissue therapy, joint mobilization, chiropractic adjustments, mobility work, rehabilitation, and strength training. We'll discuss your options with you and make sure you're comfortable with your treatment plan.
